Etsy Spotlight: Alice Wears Gold

Okay, so I *do* use websites other than Wanelo forĀ innocent window shopping… Another front-runner is Etsy! With Christmas coming up soon, I figured I’d start posting a couple of really cool shops I’ve found on Etsy. This is Alice Wears Gold, and is based in Brisbane, Australia.

My favourite item from this shop is the Gold Peacock Charm Necklace, but from what I can tell there’s different pieces added all the time, so if there’s nothing that catches your eye first time round, don’t worry!

Obsession: Despicable Me

…okay, so is there anyone who DOESN’T love those adorable little minions from Despicable Me? I thought not. These little guys are so cute, I want one so badly. But alas, only in my dreams. In the meantime, I went on a bit of a hunt for the cutest minion-themed products on the internet, here’s what I found! Being a hopeless romantic, there’s always one thing that’s stumped me…

…what’s the male equivalent of buying a girl flowers?

Now I’m sure there are guys out there who wouldn’t mind being given flowers, just as there are girls out there who wouldn’t appreciate flowers – but there’s no generic equivalent for us to fall back on for guys! I suppose this has been bred from old chauvinistic traditions where guys were expected to court women, not the other way around.

I suppose I could go down the route of ‘little trinkets every now and then’, or cooking meals out of the blue – but they both don’t quite have that same effect as a bunch of roses and a box of chocolates!

But in today’s world, with women becoming more and more equal to men, surely we can be a bit romantic too? The only question is what gift to give…
